Introducing Tateossian Jewellery

It’s been quite a few weeks since we introduced one of our newest jewellery brands here on our blog, but, as you’ll have doubtless noticed if you’re a regular visitor to our website and our Facebook page, there are still a good few brand names that we’ve yet to acquaint you with in further detail. In light of the recent focus that we’ve been taking upon Messika jewellery, it would be nice to re-address that imbalance by showcasing something similar for the gents out there, and rest assured that the work of leading jewellery and accessory brand Tateossian fits the bill with aplomb.

Although their work is a relative newcomer to the collection here at Banks Lyon Jewellers, Tateossian have actually been on the go for more than 20 years, as the brand was founded back in 1990 by Robert Tateossian. Born in Kuwait and educated in Rome, Robert Tateossian began his working life with seven years of investment banking, but his ambition was always to start his own jewellery business. It should be fairly self-apparent at this point that this aspiration has been realised, as Robert Tateossian’s natural affinity with creativity and fine detail soon led to him becoming established at the very heart of the silver-smithing industry in England.

The initial workshops and offices for Tateossian were all based in the UK, and it didn’t take long for the Tateossian values of quality and style to become well beloved by both men and women alike. At Banks Lyon, our own collection of Tateossian jewellery is fairly centred around a collection of accessories for discerning contemporary businessmen, and this bias perhaps represents some of Robert Tateossian’s greatest works. Renowned as ‘the King of Cufflinks’, Robert Tateossian has been credited with almost singlehandedly revolutionising the cufflinks industry, but this isn’t the only form of male accessory that the Tateossian name has helped to popularise.

Watches, money clips, rings and necklaces are all an integral part of the Tateossian men’s selection, not to mention the bracelets that we’re now stocking ourselves. Tateossian’s signature statement is the fusion of innovative materials into a single instantly memorable piece, and their range of bracelets indubitably typifies this tendency, using materials like leather and silver to great effect, although in some instances more exotic substances like black diamond and even dinosaur bone are used. Each Tateossian jewellery item is painstakingly hand crafted in accordance with the expected standards of a genuinely international luxury brand, and there’s little wonder that the company has won the coveted ‘UK British Export Award for Accessories’ on three separate occasions.

According to Robert Tateossian himself, some of the more complex jewellery designs in his portfolio can take up to 2 years to finalise, but the end results are always beautifully made products that are not only unique, but also built to last. With Christmas just under a week away, we also can’t help but think how perfect Tateossian bracelets or Tateossian cufflinks would be as a gift for a male friend or a family member. We’ll be bringing you details about a few more choices from our Tateossian assemblage in a few days, but, in the meantime, if you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to contact us now by calling 01524 38 48 58 or emailing [email protected].
