Omega Creates New Aqua Terra ‘Golf’

We’ve recently had cause to highlight the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra range as part of our feature on Omega’s recent Master Co-Axial collection, but that chance shouldn’t prevent us from returning to the Aqua Terra assemblage again, especially since a brand new timepiece has just been ushered into the fold. Omega’s association with golf is one of their primary interests, and is only set to increase in the coming years. To strengthen these ties beyond any reasonable doubt, an Aqua Terra ‘Golf’ watch has been unveiled, and this timepiece is officially endorsed by Rory Mcllroy himself.

Any golf-themed timepiece would do well to incorporate the vibrant aesthetics of the golfing greens, and this new Seamaster Aqua Terra certainly makes the most of this striking hue. The ‘Seamaster’ emblem at the crux of the ‘Teak Concept’ dial is resplendent in green, as is the minute track around the circumference of timepiece. Similarly, the central green seconds hand is varnished to sleek perfection, giving this Aqua Terra wristwatch an appearance that’s truly unique.

The stainless steel case of the timepiece measures at 41.5 mm and comes with a complementary stainless steel bracelet that boasts Omega’s signature screw and pin design. However, an additional fastening is also available in the form of a brown Barénia® leather strap. A distinct type of leather that unerringly retains both natural aesthetics and exceptionally supple properties, this leather is also notable for subtly changing colour over time, becoming darker as it is used, but regardless of its exact shade it will always provide a splendid contrast for the casing.

Just like the members of our previous Aqua Terra collection feature, the ‘Golf Edition’ timepiece is completed with a Master Co-Axial calibre 8500 movement; a prestigious mechanism that indubitably displays just how important a role golf now plays within Omega’s horological world. As a Master Co-Axial movement, this creation is resistant to magnetism even within fields that are in excess of 15,000 gauss, and of course it retains all of the qualities within the established Co-Axial family as well. Self-winding and typified by exemplary performance and reliability, each Master Co-Axial is built to endure, and will remain unwaveringly accurate even after the passage of time.

As you might expect from the presence of such a prodigiously engineered mechanism, this Aqua Terra is fully certified to chronometer standard, meaning that it is endorsed by the highest benchmark in terms of precision timekeeping. Despite drawing inspiration from the rolling greens of golf, it also maintains a robust water resistance of 150 metres, and benefits from the enhanced 4 year warranty that has become synonymous with the Co-Axial family. With scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protecting the dial and the caseback, this timepiece is a fitting homage to the revered Aqua Terra name, and also a sturdy and practical wristwatch to be enjoyed.

Rory Mcllroy’s timepiece of choice, the Omega Aqua Terra 150m Master Co-Axial watch is available for you to own now at Banks Lyon Jewellers. Retailing at £3,800, this classically styled wristwatch is also on offer on 0% finance for 36 monthly payments of £84.44 alongside a 20% deposit.
