Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial

It’s always a pleasure to receive new timepieces into stock, and that fact is doubly true when they represent truly landmark developments from some of the most respected names in all of horology. Omega has been one such leading watchmaker for almost time out of mind, and we’ve dwelt at length over their innovative Co-Axial movements in the past.

Some time ago, we mentioned how this remarkable watch movement had been refined even further with the introduction of the ‘Master Calibre’, and now we’re delighted to say that we have one of these groundbreaking new movements in store, housed within a gorgeous new Seamaster Aqua Terra.

The Master Co-Axial movement was one of the most intriguing announcements to be named by Omega before Baselworld 2014, and so marrying this extremely prestigious movement with the Omega Seamaster – one of Omega’s most famous collections – was undoubtedly always going to be a master-stroke. The Master Co-Axial was introduced to inject even more durability into the already impressive Co-Axial movement, equipping it with enhanced anti-magnetic capabilities to ensure even higher standards.

To boost the anti-magnetic capabilities of the Co-Axial, the staffs and pivots within the Master Co-Axial have been formed from non-magnetic Nivagaussâ„¢, and the formerly steel plates have been similarly crafted from non-magnetic materials. Even the shock absorber spring has been treated in this way, allowing the Co-Axial to now be resistant when exposed to magnetism of up to 15,000 gauss.

Omega President Stephen Urquhart has stated that these movements – set to be used in both male and female targeted timepieces – will set the precedent within Omega for years to come, but of course the appeal of this Seamaster is not purely down to its movement, as the rest of the watch is also similarly worthy of praise.

A tribute to Omega’s maritime heritage, the sun-brushed dial of this Seamaster Aqua Terra – like so many others – has been detailed to mimic the wooden decking of classical sailing boats (known as a ‘Teak concept pattern’, and it has also been lacquered black to look exceptionally sophisticated. To create a vibrant contrast, strong warmer elements have been added to the colour scheme as well. Evident through the orange varnished seconds hand and minute track, and additionally seen in the warm aesthetics of the brown leather strap, these considered hues result in the Seamaster conforming to an incredibly eye-catching ‘earthy’ visual theme; very different to most maritime inspired watches.

However, no Omega timepiece is a triumph of style over substance, and so this Seamaster Aqua Terra is protected by a domed sapphire crystal that repels reflection and scratching, a water resistance of 150 metres, and a robust 60 hour power reserve. The movement is also capable of being wound very swiftly, thanks to unidirectional winding, so there is an awful lot to commend Omega for with regards to this fully-certified chronometer.

In stock now at Banks Lyon, this steel on leather Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial 41.5mm watch is available for £3,720, and can be obtained on 0% finance for 36 monthly payments of £82.67 alongside a 20% deposit. Of course, we also possess a vast collection of alternative Omega watches as well, so if you’d like to find out more about any of these timepieces then we welcome you to get in touch with us by calling 01524 38 48 58 or emailing [email protected]. We’ll always be pleased to help.
