Every fine Swiss time piece will need servicing regularly to ensure its longevity and continued accuracy. A standard watch movement comprises of over 200 moving parts that will require cleaning and lubricating every four to five years (certain movements only require servicing every ten years). It is important to acknowledge that a wristwatch, assuming worn every day, is clocking up over 8,500 hours of accurate timekeeping a year and over five years this is nearly 44,000 hours of wear and tear.
Although made to the highest possible standards, there are many different oils used in wristwatches which can thicken and dry over time, eventually losing their cohesiveness and moving off the pivots.
Gaskets which are there to ensure that your watch maintains water resistance will also need to be checked from time to time as these can deteriorate.
If you find that the face of your watch becomes misty, you should take your watch to an authorised dealer as soon as possible, as any moisture within the case will corrode its movement and likely discolour the dial.
We recommend that you take your watch for a full service around every 4-6 years to ensure that it continues to perform at its best.
Any work you wish to be undertaken on watches that are under guarantee will be sent to the manufacturer. or otherwise, the watch house, where we will use our strong links with manufacturers to ensure that your repair is completed and sent back to you as quickly as possible.

We understand that your new purchase is an investment, and so we offer full Insurance and Probate valuations in store. We can provide all of our customers with high quality digital photographs of your prized possessions and will ensure that you receive a professional certificate which details replacement value and scrupulous description for insurance purposes. This certificate will enable you to obtain proper insurance for your goods so that you will be adequately compensated in the event of loss or theft. A valuation every two years is recommended.
