Probably the worlds most recognised brand for luxury goods, Cartier was the brainchild of Jeweller, Louis-Francois Cartier. Since 1847 the House of Cartier has consistently set the standard for style and extravagance in jewellery and watches. In 1904, Louis Cartier designed the first true wristwatch, the Cartier Santos, for Brazilian aviator, Alberto Santos-Dumont. The Cartier Tank watch followed, worn by tank commanders during the First World War.
