Emeralds are seen as one of the world’s rarest and most precious gems. They have adorned Crown Jewels and embellished the thrones of some of the oldest dynasties in history. Their vibrant green luster makes Emeralds highly desirable, and at Banks Lyon we only stock untreated Emeralds – bringing you the gem in its’ purest form.

Sapphires typically offer a deep blue intensity, but they are also available in a full range of fancy colours, such as pink and yellow. Sapphire is an extremely strong gem and because of this it is suitable for any type of Jewellery you may desire.

Rubies are prized for their red glow, which was historically thought to come from its internal eternal flame. Ancient Hindus referred to rubies as the “Lord of Gems”. They are well known as one of the most cherished of all gems throughout all periods of history.

Tanzanite was discovered in 1967 in Meralani, Tanzania. It is a typically vivid blue or purple gem and we are delighted to be able to offer such a rare gem in our showroom. Tanzanite is now thought to be 15 times rarer than Diamond, and so comes with the saying ‘soon the only way to own Tanzanite, is to inherit it.’

Diamonds are so beautiful that the ancient Greeks thought they were splinters of stars, and while most Diamonds aren’t colourless you can get fancy colours that range from yellow to pink to blue. These fancy colours are much rarer than colourless Diamonds, and the more intense the colour the rarer and more valuable they are. We stock only Certificated Coloured Diamonds, so you can be sure of your Diamonds true intensity.
