The Omega Hour Vision has been a recent development on the De Ville model, and includes the 8500 movement, which was designed from scratch and is a completely in-house movement. The rarity of designing movements from scratch means that this is a truly unique timepiece, and the in-house feature being particularly attractive to enthusiasts of in-house Swiss manufacturing.

The movement is designed to be low-friction, and is a twin barrel in series, delivering a more stable power. Winding time has also been reduced, with the automatic winding mechanism having a bi-metal brass and tungsten rotor that can wind both ways, also ensuring an impressive 60 hour power reserve. These innovations make the Omega Hour Vision a timepiece with high levels of precision and longevity.

The model also has other new design features, which include the bi-directional self-winding mechanism and a time zone function enabling precision to be maintained when the hour hand is set.
