Breitling are no strangers to aerospace engineering; being the world’s leading manufacturer of Swiss pilot watches and chronographs.
It comes as no surprise, then, that they have recently collaborated with innovative brand Cirrus Aircraft to create a limited-edition chronograph which encompasses the power, precision, and sleekness that you would expect from a top of the range aircraft, as well as the high-quality workmanship that is standard from Breitling.
Although the chronometer was created for Cirrus aviators and limited to 220 pieces, we thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to look at the craftsmanship that went into such a prestigious piece.
Back in 2001, the SR22 model was released with a new, defining feature – a whole-plane emergency recovery parachute system known as the ‘Cirrus Airframe Parachute System’ or CAPS. This system helped the model become a worldwide success, and thus making air travel much safer.
