The wonderfully affordable watch brand “Dietrich” has released their brand new watch, called the Dietrich OTC, which stands for “Organic Time Companion", and this feat represents the culmination of many years of work by the renowned designer Emmanuel Dietrich. Born in Besançon in 1969, Dietrich is qualified as an interior architect, but has worked alongside numerous notable names in the watchmaking world before finally unveiling his unique range of Dietrich 1969 watches.
The design of each Dietrich watch is very fluid and organic in style, and these qualities have already turned plenty of heads the world over. Utilising the clever juxtaposition of natural and geometric forms, the Dietrich OTC watch collection possesses an aesthetic like no other, and brings three distinct variants of multi-layered dial in green, red and yellow to the fore.
The Dietrich watch family uses micro-bead finished 316L stainless steel in the main, although they also utilise PVD, sapphire crystal and modified Miyota 82-S-7 movements on a ubiquitous basis as well. Similarly common to the brand is the use of an aperture beneath the layered ‘X-shaped’ feature on the dial to display this robust movement.
Whilst the organic themes within the watches remain related, each different Dietrich OTC exhibits its own unique character and is superbly comfortable to wear; largely thanks to an unbroken leather or Nylon strap that cushions the wrist against the case of the timepiece in question. When you take all of this into account, there is little wonder why Dietrich 1969 watches are proving to be a major talking point within the horological world.
The founder and designer, Emmanuel Dietrich, has returned with a watch that he claims “perfectly matches his expectations”, and we at Banks Lyon are thrilled to be an official stockist of his product.
