Are lab grown diamonds considered fake or synthetic diamonds?
Historically, "fake" diamonds were typically made of glass. Glass is much less durable and has a lot less sparkle than a well-cut diamond. Other diamond imitations, like synthetic cubic zirconia and natural zircon or topaz gems, are brittle and very likely to chip with wear. Lab grown diamonds have none of those issues. They’re real and just as durable and radiant as any natural diamond.
Do lab grown diamonds get cloudy over time?
Lab grown diamonds typically have good clarity and like a high-quality natural diamond, lab grown diamonds won’t get cloudy, nor are they any less durable.
Are lab grown diamonds flawless?
Exactly as natural diamonds, lab grown diamonds will vary in colour, clarity, and cut. Each one is unique. Lab grown diamonds may contain very small internal or surface inclusions, comparable to high quality natural stones. Lab grown diamonds are graded and certificated by independent gemological labs such as the GIA, who certify natural diamonds, using the same strict standards.
