Breitling Ambassador Beckham Rejoins Ex-Teammates For Reunion

David Beckham was back in Manchester over the weekend as he met up with his ‘Class of ‘92’ teammates and perpetual medal machine Ryan Giggs for a reunion meal at the city’s Artisan restaurant. The Breitling Watches ambassador has never hidden the fact that though he left Manchester United in 2003, his heart still belongs to the club and the city.

Beckham, along with Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and brothers Phil and Gary Neville, was commemorating 22 years to the day since the five of them signed their professional contracts in 1991 (Ryan Giggs is often mistakenly thought as one of the ‘Fergie Fledglings’ but in fact began his career a year earlier).

All five of Fergie’s Fledglings have now retired from the game, with Beckham, Scholes and Phil Neville joining Butt and Gary Neville superannuated superstars. That leaves only Ryan Giggs to continue his playing career, recently promoted to player/coach under new Manchester United manager David Moyes.

Beckham drew an end to his career this season, after a decade with United, followed by successful stints in Spain, the USA and France, with loan periods in Italy. During his twenty-year career Beckham became the first Englishman to win league titles in four nations. Now retired, Beckham has even more opportunities to explore some off-pitch ventures, including his recent appointment as an ambassador for Breitling.

Specifically, Beckham has become the face of the Breitling Transocean Chronograph Unitime watch, and has spoken highly of the brand; ‘I’ve always been a long-time admirer of Breitling. As a company they create not only the highest-performance watches but also timeless designs that have inspired generations. It was a natural choice for me to partner with this fantastic brand.’

The Transocean Chronograph Unitime watch upholds Breitling’s horological mastery in its idiosyncratic double disk mechanism, which allows the wearer to read all 24 time zones at a glance. The 46mm stainless steel case surrounds an ivory dial with baton numerals for unparalleled clarity in reading any and all of the time zones. So sure are Breitling of this chronograph’s quality that it comes with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty alongside the COSC certification and automatic movement, ensuring this watch will enjoy a career as long and successful as its illustrious ambassador.

At Banks Lyon, our commitment to bringing you the very best in luxury watches means that the Transocean Chronograph Unitime is available to purchase on finance with a 10% deposit and 36 monthly payments from £201.50, or over two years at £302.25.
