Chopard to Provide Jewellery For Forthcoming Diana Film

Luxury watch and jewellery company Chopard have released a series of new images showing actress Naomi Watts wearing a stunning selection of their jewellery in the upcoming biopic Diana.

Watts plays the eponymous Princess, known as the ‘People’s Princess” – a title coined by ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair – in the film that focuses on the last two years of life after her divorce from Prince Charles. The film follows her relationship with heart surgeon Dr Hasnat Khan (Naveen Andrews) and subsequently Dodi Fayed (Cas Anvar).

The new stills show a glimpse of the Swiss brand’s handiwork as the official jeweller for the film, replicating the princess’ watches, jewellery and bags. It is known that the aristocratic family into which she was born, the Spencers, favoured Collingwood jewellers, whilst Diana herself was also pictured wearing pieces by Harry Winston and Crown Jewellers Garrard. Chopard have gone to painstaking lengths to recreate the pieces for the film, and yet retain their own signature style. As if to press the point home, in one scene Diana is seen shopping at Chopard.

For Diana, Chopard have provided a stunning selection of pieces, including a necklace in platinum set with fancy-cut diamonds (78cts), earrings in 18ct white gold set with grey cultured pearls (48cts) and an 18ct white gold watch set with moving diamonds, baguette-cut diamonds and brilliants (1ct). Whilst these exquisite pieces and more have been specifically produced for the film, as authorised stockists of Chopard watches Banks Lyon do posses an beautiful selection in store and available to browse online. Specifically, also from the Chopard Happy Diamond collection is the dazzling Chopard Happy Diamond Watch, a diamond set 18ct white gold watch with a single floating diamond on the bezel above the 12 o’clock position.

Chopard’s co-president and artistic director for the film Caroline Scheufele has been working alongside the costume designer Julian Day to achieve the regal look for the princess, hot off the back of being the official jeweller for this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Chopard have also provided the jewellery for Woody Allen’s 2011 film Midnight in Paris, as well as Elizabeth: The Golden Age with Cate Blanchett and Nine, starring Daniel Day-Lewis.

What you might not know is that to look like a princess doesn’t have to cost a royal fortune, as the Happy Diamond Watch, along with all our Chopard watches here at Banks Lyon, is available for just a 10% deposit and 0% finance over 24 months, meaning you can secure an elegant slice of regal majesty for less than you might think.
