Vivianna Torun Bulow-Hube
One of the most iconic collections in the Georg Jensen watch portfolio is the Vivianna watches by legendary Swedish designer Vivianna Torun Bulow-Hube.
Born in Sweden in 1927 she is known worldwide for her jewellery and watch designs, with many pieces exhibited in museums all over the world. Brigitte Bardot, Billie Holiday and Pablo Picasso were all great followers of her work.
In 1967 Vivianna began collaborating with Georg Jensen and her original idea for the Georg Jensen bangle watch was adapted into what is now the most successful watch in the Georg Jensen line. When asked about her inspiration behind the bangle watch she remarked “Back then watches were only chronometers – measures of time, which controlled your life. I wanted to make a watch that reminded one that life was here and now.â€
She did this by creating a collection of watches with a mirrored face, no numbers and a simple second hand. The bangle watch is available in a number of dial sizes, and with or without Diamonds; this stainless steel watch is a true representation of Georg Jensen’s quirky designs.
