A History of Cartier
Louis- Francois Cartier founded his jewellery and watch-making company in Paris in 1847. The first wristwatch produced by the company came in 1904. The design was an absolute triumph. Even today, they continue to manufacture the Cartier Santos watch.
In fact, Louis Carter, the founder’s grandson, was instrumental in creating the global luxury brand we know and love. Not only was he crucial in crafting Cartier’s most famous designs, but he also took the company beyond the borders of France, setting up locations in some of the biggest cities in the world. Paris. And that tradition still continues to this day, with Cartier considered one of the finest and most stylish creators of fine jewels and timepieces.
