Everybody knows that education is a fundamental human right and that every child should have access to learning and all the benefits that come with it, however, we also know that this is not possible in some places in the world.
Mont Blanc have teamed up with UNICEF and created a new collection that takes inspiration from the fundamental building blocks that a good education can bring to children the world over. The "Signature for Good Collection" with its symbolic brick design, is designed to make a valuable and lasting contribution towards helping children learn to read and write.
Mont Blanc Global campaigns have raised over $5million dollars to date.
Yesterday the brand announced their initiative to reinforce the long term commitment to children’s education and UNICEF with the unveiling of a new collection that will support the charities education projects in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Mont Blanc is a brand built on the ethos of the written word and all the wonders that stem from it, therefore, it seems only natural that a cultural commitment to helping others benefit from learning would be something the French brand makes an integral part of their philosophy.
Since 2004 Mont Blanc has supported UNICEF and has taken an active role in UNICEF’s efforts to enable more children to learn how to read and write. Global fundraising initiatives such as “Sign Up for the Right to Wright†and the “Power to Write†were set up in 2004 and 2007 respectively and in 2009 the brand renewed their commitment to the charities work to build a better future for children through access to quality education funded with proceeds from the “Signature for Good†initiative.
Now building upon the original initiative started in 2009 the new 2013 “Signature for Good†campaign pledges to raise at least $1.5million dollars.
“Education is the foundation for a better future.â€
The new collection is an assortment of beautiful products; from writing instruments and accessories to contemporary jewellery pieces. Each piece features an individual number associated with a ‘brick’, a reference to the building and running of schools; indicating that the owner of the product has made a direct contribution to building a better and brighter future for the children affected. By registering their number on the Mont Blanc website the owner can monitor the progress of the initiative and find out the many ways UNICEF are improving the lives of young children everywhere.
“The iconic Meisterstück with unique new detailingâ€
Mont Blanc has taken the classic design of the famous Mont Blanc Meisterstück Pens and have updated it for this new collection. Unique detailing such as the platinum-plated cap top ring designed with the symbolic brick design and a blue sapphire set into the ring. The sapphire was chosen to represent the iconic UNICEF blue colour.
This theme is carried through into the leather collection; the pieces in this collection have specially designed inlays that reflect the brick design and again are in the UNICEF blue.
The jewellery pieces form a collection of stylish and practical pieces that can be worn anytime. Elegant cufflinks, a bangle and a key ring are all made from durable stainless steel and again feature the brick motif and a blue sapphire.
All these pieces are available in store.
