Sophisticated Luxury with Bremont Solo Watches

Bremont News & Releases

Bremont is a British brand founded in 2002 in Henley-on-Thames and known for its clean designs, cutting-edge technology, passion for history and connection to aviation.

Bremont watches are influenced by aircraft and mechanical movements and manufactured with a lot of attention to detail, as the watchmaker ensures a high level of quality and precision on all pieces. The Solo collection is a great example of that.

Bremont History

The brand’s history began in the late 1990s, when brothers Nick and Giles English had to land in a field in France to escape bad weather that affected their 1930s’ biplane. A farmer helped them by hiding their plane in his barn until the weather passed, so it wouldn’t become damaged. The farmer was called Antoine Bremont, and the brothers paid him homage by naming the company after him.

Euan English, Nick and Giles’ father, used to bring clocks be bought from auctions home, and they spent time trying to make them work again. This is likely where their passion for watches began. Their father was also an avid flyer. He had a PhD in Aeronautical Engineering and had a career with the RAF. He passed away in 1995 in an aircraft accident.

The brothers decided life was too precious to waste, so they followed their dreams and not only did they continue to fly, but they also built a watch company from the ground up.

While Bremont uses Swiss-made components, the watches are hand-built in the UK, as well as rigorously tested for precision and other features. Their chronometers are COSC-certified, meaning they’re reliable and durable.

The watchmaker has an annual production of around 8,000 to 10,000 watches and has won many awards over the years. Bremont collections range from special editions for members of the armed forces to pieces available to the public.

Bremont Solo Collection

This family of watches is inspired by the classic pilot watches of the 1940s and it’s characterised by a large variety of case sizes and dials as well. Bremont Solo watches are also among the most affordable pieces that the brand offers, so they’re perfect for all budgets.

Whether you’re searching for your first Bremont watch or looking to add another to your collection, we can help at Banks Lyon. We stock many Bremont pieces from several lines, including the Solo collection, which comes with stunning technical specifications and elegant designs that make them ideal dress watches.

You can also take your Solo watch anywhere you go, such as when you’re playing sports or exploring nature. This is because the cases in the Solo range have been hardened to over 2,000 on the Vickers scale, making them several times more resistant to scratches and damage.

While Bremont’s designs tend to be gender-neutral, several watches in the Solo collection can be considered ladies’ watches, especially because of the smaller case sizes.

Solo watches are practical and stylish, modern and innovative – but always with an understated sophistication that is uniquely Bremont. Perfect for anyone looking for a trustworthy piece to wear throughout the day and into the night.

Bremont Solo Lady K Tahiti Watch

A fantastic way to represent the Solo collection, the Bremont Solo Lady K Tahiti watch has an interesting backstory, as seems to be the case with all collections and watches the company manufactures. The model is named after the boat that Euan English, Nick and Giles’ father, hand-built for their mother, the Lady K.

According to Nick English, the Bremont Solo Lady K is a watch for women’s lives lived well, as he still remembers how his mother sailed to Africa on the Lady K and how creative she was.

The watch has been created with the idea that “elegance and finesse combine with aviation principles”. It has a case size of 34mm and is both a watch and a jewellery piece – especially if you consider the beautiful mother-of-pearl dial.

There are two different dials, depending on your preference, made with either white mother-of-pearl or black Tahitian mother-of-pearl. Each dial is unique because this material creates patterns that are one-of-a-kind.

This is the first time that diamonds have been used in a Bremont core collection. You can find them on the dial, with eight applied indices having claw-set full-cut 1.3mm VS2 GH diamonds, as well as on the stainless-steel case. The bezel claw-set has 60 white brilliant-cut 1.35mm VVS FG diamonds with a total carat weight of 0.7ct. Just like Banks Lyon, Bremont also ensures that their diamonds are ethical.

The Lady K watch comes with domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal, which is resistant to scratches, and a Trip-Tick® case, which further adds to the durability and longevity of the piece.

If you choose this watch, either for you or as a gift for a special person in your life, you’ll be happy to know that it has a 42-hour power reserve. The BE-92AV automatic chronometer-rated movement has 25 jewels, which you can glimpse through the transparent caseback.

On the dial, you’ll also find a date window at the 6 o’clock position. Finally, the model is also water-resistant up to 100 metres, like the other Solo watches in the collection.

The Bremont Solo Lady K Tahiti watch can be purchased at Banks Lyon from £5,495 or from £82.43 per month at 0% finance.
