TAG Heuer Link watches have always been a very distinct and contemporary family of timepieces for the discerning city professional to access, and according to the latest news this popular TAG Heuer collection is now set to be enhanced even further. A trio of new Link watches boasting the Calibre 7 GMT movement form the spearhead of this expansion, and, with this new ensemble cast now equipped with a 24-hour second time zone feature, Link watches have never seemed more gloriously optimised for the rigors of a busy professional lifestyle.
The TAG Heuer spotlight is currently upon the rose gold embellished watch, and with very good reason. The second time zone display for this new link watch is situated in pride of place right at the epicentre of the dial, and few configurations could have allowed this useful function to be utilised with more ease. However, TAG Heuer watches are never simply instruments of practicality – although they do undoubtedly excel in this area – but they are also iconic style statements as well, and so the new Link watch fuses both form and function to create a timepiece of extremely refined aesthetics.

The Calibre 7 GMT movement is indubitably the showpiece adornment of these new timepieces, and this automatic movement comes with a power reserve in excess of 40 hours to remain accurate within even the most hectic of environments. It would therefore be a travesty to totally conceal this technological sensation from view, so TAG Heuer have fitted the reverse of the 42mm case with a sapphire crystal back of exceptional clarity, allowing every precise adjustment of this movement to be observed at will.
The front of the watch – as you might expect – is no less impressive, and the dark Anthracite dial contrasts well with the sleek fine-brushed steel of the case an
d bracelet. A greater sense of definition has been added to the dial by using a vertical textured patterning, and the hands and indexes have also been plated in rose gold to imbue the watch with a touch of real sophistication. The hand applied TAG Heuer logo similarly utilises this precious material, and stands at the opposite extremity of the watch to the 6 o’clock date window to finish the visual theme with some pleasing symmetry.
Link watches have always been defined by their instantly recognisable signature bracelets, and the new GMT timepieces represent the evolution of this trademark by boasting redesigned links. Still remaining proudly within the established boundaries of the Link watch tradition, this new watch – and the others like it – take the collection in a subtly different direction that radiates style from every feasible angle. For a range that is associated with Cameron Diaz, among many others, you wouldn’t expect anything less.
