The Joaillerie 101 Manchette, thought to be the World's most expensive watch

The first in this countdown of the world’s most expensive watches starts with the Tecnica Skeleton Chronograph, a platinum time piece that can be yours for a mere eight hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

Next, we have the Classical Billionaire Tourbillion, a highly exclusive watch that is decorated with 850 diamonds. There are various versions of this watch available, and only ten of each model are produced. The most expensive of the Billionaire Tourbillion watches retail at just shy of a million dollars. Expensive.

The Big Bang Chronograph produced by world famous watchmaker Hublot, in conjunction with south African based diamond setting workshop Bunter-SA exceeds the million dollar mark and it’s hardly surprising when you see just how many diamonds cover its surface.

The next in this series of expensive time pieces is the Tour de l’Ile, with a price tag of $1.5 million. It is an extremely complicated watch with two faces that incorporate a wide range of features. With over 830 components each one of these intricate devices took over 10,000 man hours to complete.

The last and most expensive of these five watches if the Joaillerie 101 Manchette, which at first glance doesn’t even appear to be a watch. It looks like a bracelet comprised of numerous tiny squares made from precious metals and studded with diamonds. However, closer inspection will reveal that one of these squares is in fact a watch face that utilises the mechanical manually wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 101 movement. The price of this truly astounding time piece remains unknown, but you can be sure that it’s a lot more than the majority of people could ever afford.

And you thought you were privileged to own Rolex or Omega watches.
