Great Timepieces to Watch Out for in 2019

Technology is rapidly evolving, and the horology world has never been so rich in timepieces and luxury watch brands. Every year, these brands offer emblematic models designed to perfectly reflect the wearer’s personality and style, exceeding themselves with each new release.

With 2018 now behind us, the New Year promises to be just as good or better, so we’ve compiled a list of great watches from a variety of brands that you should keep an eye on in 2019.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer ‘Rose Gold Carbon’ 41mm Watch

The new accessibly-priced TAG Heuer Carbon Collection is the perfect example of why the Swiss brand is renowned for creating innovative, avant-garde timepieces. With a high mechanical performance, a high chemical resistance and an excellent ability to withstand shocks, this collection is perfect for anyone living life to the maximum. The titanium case, the impressive water-resistance of up to 300 metres and the self-winding automatic Calibre 5 movement come together to create pieces that have been designed to push boundaries and offer the ultimate in reliability.

In addition, the lightweight carbon material and unique style of each model in this collection, as well as its shades of carbon, offer unmatched style and comfort.

This Aquaracer model features a black PVD-coated 41mm titanium case with a steel and carbon bezel surrounding a carbon fibre pattern with rose gold hour markers and hands. It’s secured to the wrist with a nylon strap. This watch also comes with yellow and blue accents should you prefer different hues.

The Aquaracer ‘Rose Gold Carbon’ 41mm watch is available for £3,300 or from £55 per month at 0% finance.

This gorgeous range is the quintessential expression of the brand’s sporting elegance, capable of catching the eye no matter where you are, be it a fashionable soirée or a prestigious event.

This particular model features a beautiful blue dial, a well-crafted cabochon crown and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with several layers of anti-reflective coating on the underside. The baton numerals and hands come with Swiss-Super LumiNova® that adds visibility even in the most challenging lighting conditions.

This sophisticated Longines Conquest V.H.P. watch is available for £720 or from just £12 per month at 0% finance.

Omega de Ville Trésor Quartz Watch

Omega have been responsible for producing some of the world’s most popular watches, including the timepieces that accompanied the astronauts who landed on the moon. From keeping the time at the Olympic games since 1932 to adorning the wrists of famous figures, such as Prince William and John F Kennedy, Omega is famous for their high functionality and beautiful, sophisticated styles for both ladies and gents.

This de Ville Trésor Quartz model for ladies combines beautiful aesthetics and reliability and adds a contemporary edge as well. The slim 36mm case is made from stainless steel and features diamond paving that curves along each side. The crown is polished with red ‘HyCeram’ and set with a single diamond, and the mother-of-pearl dial only adds to the elegant feel of this piece.

Just like other Omega models, you can expect a high-quality movement, which is driven by the calibre 4061 and sits behind a mirrored caseback. The watch also comes with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that makes it perfect for everyday wear.

The Omega de Ville Trésor Quartz watch can be found at Banks Lyon for £3,680 or from just £61.33 per month at 0% finance.

IWC Pilot Watches

It’s also worth mentioning the new additions to the IWC’s pilot range, which will be showcased on the 2019 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie. From January 14th to 17th, this annual event will feature world-renowned brands and many product launches, including IWC’s four new editions:

  • Pilot’s Watch Double Chronograph Top Gun Ceratanium

As always, IWC watches are the highlight of the event, displaying the stunning technology, craftsmanship, innovation and style that have made the brand a giant in the industry.

Omega Seamaster 1948

Omega never stop creating or innovating. In addition to the stunning collections you can find at Banks Lyon, Omega are also offering two new platinum limited editions for their Seamaster 1948 range. Last year, the luxury watchmaker celebrated 70 years of this iconic waterproof collection, and the new models perfectly commemorate this special occasion by adding a touch of luxury, exclusivity and sophistication.

The original Seamaster timepieces were based on military watches but suited for civilian life – and possessed greater water-resistance due to Omega’s innovative O-ring gasket technology. Two models existed at the time: a small-seconds watch with leaf hands and a central-seconds watch with dauphine hands.

These pieces were revamped in contemporary limited editions, although they remain very faithful to the inaugural ones. The cases are now made from 950 Platinum, so they’re not as slim on the wrist, but the dimensions remain the same: a 38mm diameter and 11.20mm (central-seconds) or 11.65mm (small-seconds) in height.

Both models remain water-resistant up to 60 metres and the caseback possesses the patented Naiad Lock system; the same movements are also used, although the newer models come with solid Sedna gold rotor and balance bridge. The anti-magnetic calibres are developed and manufactured in-house and have the METAS/Master Chronometer certification.

The limited edition Seamaster 1948 range is truly the epitome of luxury watchmaking, offering a stunning accuracy rooted in heritage.

2019 promises to be a year where diverse timepieces with a rich heritage, timeless design and innovative technology reign. We are proud to stock a wide range of watches on finance, available on purchases over £500, over terms of up to 48 months.
