Few chronographs have a profile as instantly recognisable as the Navitimer. First created in 1952 for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, its ingenious pairing of a circular slide rule and chronograph placed an aviator’s essential calculations within easy reach. The Navitimer B09 Chronograph 41 captures that pioneering spirit in a beautifully considered, modern-retro design inspired by the 1960s Navitimer Mk 5 reference 806. A lacquered black dial provides the perfect backdrop for three crisp white subdials, a contrasting white slide-rule scale and luminous white accents. At twelve o’clock, the golden Twin Jet emblem recalls the badge introduced on civilian Navitimers in 1965, a period when the watch found admirers well beyond aviation, including racing drivers Jim Clark and Graham Hill. Inside the 41 mm stainless-steel case, the hand-wound Breitling Manufacture Calibre B09 is revealed through an open caseback. A supple brown Santoni calfskin strap and folding clasp complete a watch that balances purposeful engineering with unmistakable vintage character.
