The Omega Constellation Pluma

The Omega Constellation family has been an omnipresent part of the Omega assemblage since 1982, and, typified by the distinctive ‘Griffe’ claws on the outer edge of their casings, these timepieces have always been incredibly popular. Having been largely redesigned in 2009, the Constellation range still upholds all of the timeless aesthetical features of the traditional collection, including the delicately placed star at 6 o‘clock, but has evolved into a sporty and elegant range of watches where there is almost guaranteed to be a timepiece to suit every wrist.

The Constellation family received its very latest updates at Baselworld 2014, and we gave one of these watches a cursory glance in some of our previous blogs, but we’re very pleased to now be able to give yet another one of these delightful wristwatches all of the attention that it deserves. The Constellation ‘Pluma’ takes its name from the Latin word for ‘feather’, and it should therefore come as no surprise to find that the resulting watch is so breathtakingly beautiful and feminine.

The blue mother-of-pearl dial is the undoubted showpiece of this watch, and Omega has actually achieved this lovely hue by coating the underside of this luxuriant material with black stain, creating a gorgeously fluid aesthetic. As suggested by the watch’s name, it draws heavy inspiration from the appearance of real feathers, and cursive white engravings are applied onto every dial to evoke the spirit of this namesake. With the iconic Constellation star shining beneath the refined hands of the wristwatch, this dial is eminently worthy of the Constellation’s unmatched reputation.

However, Omega has not stopped at this, and has elected to embed a single miniscule diamond into each of the spaces for the 12 indexes. Furthermore, the bezel of the Constellation Pluma is encircled by a shimmering halo of star-like diamonds, meaning that this Constellation watch is not overshadowed by even the most splendid of celestial objects. The diamonds also weave between the ‘Griffes’ on the outer casing, creating an extremely distinctive effect that one is not likely to forget in a hurry.

This 24mm stainless steel Constellation is presented upon a matching stainless steel bracelet, and incorporates an Omega quartz calibre 1376 movement. Although ladies’ are becoming more and more enamoured with mechanical watches as time passes, they still tend to prefer the expediency offered by a quartz wristwatch in the main, and so this mechanism is ideally suited to their requirements. A precision device that benefits from a rhodium plated finish, this movement benefits from a 41 month power reserve and a water-resistance of 100 metres, so it is indubitably equipped to excel.

No expense has been spared when it comes to finishing this Constellation to perfection, as even the interior of the domed sapphire-crystal has been treated to resist the problematic effects of glare upon the dial. A superbly attractive timepiece that will catch the eye at even the most celebrated of occasions, this Omega Constellation Pluma 24mm watch is in stock at Banks Lyon Jewellers for £3,980. Thanks to our 0% finance options, you can also obtain this desirable watch for 36 monthly payments of £88.44 alongside a 20% deposit, with other opportunities to tailor your payment methods on offer too.
