Omega's Commemorative Olympics Watches

The long standing tradition of Omega providing the official time keeping for the Olympic games, both winter and summer, has lead to the creation of a range of special limited edition watches for each games that is held.

The Olympic Timeless Watch is Part of the Olympic Collection from Omega

These “Olympic” watches are highly sought after by many collectors as they are often made in only very limited batches. The most recent example of this was for the 2010 winter games, which were held in Toronto, Canada. The watch that was specially created to commemorate the games was a beautiful version of the Seamaster Professional. With the case and function being similar to the standard Seamaster Professional, the watch set itself apart as a special edition with the instantly recognizable Olympic rings are used as the counterweight to keep the second hand in balance, as well as the red bezel, which is the exact same shade of red as the maple leaf on the Canadian flag. The watch was a limited edition, with one 2,010 ever being made, which of course is a nod of the head to the year in which the games took place.

With a new set of Omega Olympics Watches confirmed for the London Olympics in 2012, the continuation of this Omega tradition appears to be at the forefront of Omega’s design ideas. The watches of the Olympic series tend to be made in the same fashion as the other watches that Omega offers, with great durability and functionality, while still maintaining a great style and elegance on the wrist.
