Chopard's Collaboration with Mille Miglia

The world's most prestige vintage car race started life as an endurance test in the 1920s from Northern Italy to Rome and back. Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Porsche made their names on the race's twisting roads; and today it is considered the most esteemed traditional motor race in Europe. Chopard’s partnership with the Mille Miglia vintage and classic car rally began in 1988 and since then Chopard has continued rejuvenating the Mille Miglia Collection. Chopard’s designers denote the collection as a perfect combination of watch making technology and precision mechanisms.

A Stunning Design From the Collection

In the 21st century Chopard continues its quest for producing pocket watches and chronometers of stature. Louis-Ulysse Chopard founded his company in 1860, and the brand has sustained its talent in producing masterpieces throughout the years. Almost a century into its legacy, Chopard was purchased by jewelry entrepreneur Karl Scheufele in 1963. The jewellery entrepreneur propelled both areas to greater levels of accomplishment in design and technology. Scheufele’s vision was to unite jewellery and watch making; and this collaboration has been the principal inspiration behind Chopard’s designs.
When Chopard began creating the annual special-edition Mille Miglia watch they were adamant on infusing the beauty of jewellery with an iconic aspect of vintage automobile racing in such a way that would radiate a magnetic quality. Performance, passion and precision are truly present in the Mille Miglia timepieces. The watches share their design with that of dashboards of classic cars, displaying oversized numerals; well legible set against black or silver dials. These models are an essential companion in the quest for performance.
