The 36.25 mm version has a diamond index at the 7 o’clock position to further signify the importance of the character that the watch is commemorating. The 50th anniversary bond watch is full of small clues that point towards the inspiration for its design. There is a monogrammed 007 pattern slightly raised across the black face of the dial. The watch also features a red number 50 on the unidirectional rotating bezel to allude to the important bi-centennial that the watch is celebrating. Even the edition itself is a reference to the character with only 11,007 and 3,007 watches produced in the 41mm and 36.25mm models respectively.
However, the most distinctive feature of this fine collector’s edition is the back of the case which is in the design of Maurice Binder’s famous gun barrel shot, an icon of the movie franchise and a completely unique aesthetic feature among the watch making industry. At the centre of this is a bullet design fixed onto the rotor engraved with ‘James Bond 50 years’ in small writing on the back of the bullet.
The hands are polished facetted skeleton rhodium-plated hour-minute hands coated with blue emitting lumi-nova for easy reading in any conditions. The second hand is red tipped and small highlights of red across this watch compliment the black and steel tones magnificently to add a touch of style and sophistication to this very manly watch.
