New Raymond Weil Freelancer in Stock

The Raymond Weil Freelancer collection is an old favourite here on the Banks Lyon blog, and with so much variety within this expansive range there’s always something new to showcase. Recently, we drew your attention to a brand new Freelancer model on our Facebook page, but we thought that this brief glimpse definitely warranted a little more information. Sleek and classically styled, yet possessing the subtle sense of innovation that has become the hallmark of the Freelancer assemblage, this is certainly a worthy introduction to an already beloved family of watches.

The marriage of steel and rose gold has become something of a signature within the Freelancer range, and this latest addition is another sterling example of Raymond Weil’s skill in this area. Rose gold PVD plating has been applied to the bezel, the central links in the bracelet and elements of the casing, and this warm hue provides a wonderful contrast with the cleanly styled stainless steel. The dial also includes this same colouration upon the delicate hands and indexes, with the plain black backdrop being used to create a striking juxtaposition of dark and light.

However, the most noticeable feature of this wristwatch is the 4 o’clock date window. We’ve displayed numerous freelancer watches in the past which possess an array of idiosyncrasies –including open balance wheel apertures and textured dials – and this unique date aperture is yet another example of what makes the spirit of the Freelancer so different. On previous Freelancers, the date aperture has been situated in a similar position, and it has even been bent around the contours of the dial too, but this new angle adds a smoothly rounded aesthetic and suggests the appearance of two ‘screw-heads’ too. A visual fallacy, perhaps, but one that dares to be different.

Internally, this 42mm Freelancer houses an automatically-wound movement that is recharged using only the wrist movements of the wearer.  With a 38 hour power reserve, this movement is unerringly reliable, and the rest of the horological technicalities of this timepiece are similarly impressive too. The sapphire crystal is glare-proofed on both the front and rear faces, whilst the screwed down case is water resistant to 100 metres. Another speciality of the Raymond Weil brand name, the wristwatch is finished with a double push-button folding security clasp, so it’s fair to say that this charming Freelancer is also optimised for everyday practicality too.

Ideal for astute gentlemen with an eye for beauty, and on sale at Banks Lyon Jewellers right now, this brand new Raymond Weil Freelancer 2730-SP5-20011 model watch is available for just £1,325, or can also be purchased on our flexible 0% finance scheme for 36 monthly payments of £29.44 alongside a 20% deposit.
