Find Out More About The All-New Garmin Fenix 7 Watches

With its incredible features and stylish options, the Garmin Fenix series of watches has been one to watch since its launch back in 2012. The name symbolises “rising above” and indicates the activity associated with Fenix wearers, who are thought to love the outdoors. It was built to help climb mountains and navigate hard to follow mountain paths. And now, the Garmin Fenix 7 is here to make those activities even more accessible.

Convenience as Standard from Touchscreen Interface

The Garmin Fenix 6 and 6 plus were incredible models, and it was difficult to see how Garmin would improve on such a brilliant piece of kit. However, the rugged Fenix 7 sapphire multisport GPS watch brings all those features and improves them. The most impressive upgrade to the collection is the touchscreen functionality that many Garmin Fenix watch users have been waiting for. Being the first Fenix collection to feature a touchscreen, the 7 also features buttons designed to work anywhere in any environment. So you know you can still access everything you need from your watch whether you are wearing gloves or are in wet conditions.

Smarter Options to Help You Go Longer

Updates aren’t just for the touchscreen, though, as you will find this latest model comes with improved battery life. The smallest watch in the range, the 7S, has a battery life of up to 11 days, boosted to 14 with the solar charging option when in Smartwatch mode. Adding continuous GPS and heart-rate monitoring does reduce the battery life down, but to an impressive 26 hours, or 30 hours with the solar boost. Different models from the collection offer different battery life, with the largest coming from the Fenix 7X, which has 28 days of smartwatch life, boosted to 40 with solar charge and 40 hours of life, or 48 with solar, when in GPS mode.

Improved battery saving modes can also help with the longevity of your battery life on the Fenix 7 models. The brand boasts up to 139 days of use in expedition mode and over a year in battery-saver watch mode from the Garmin 7X.

Navigate The World, No Matter The Time of Day

For those who love a scramble in the dark, the inclusion of a flashlight on the Garmin Fenix 7 collection makes it an essential item for getting out and about. The LED flashlight will help guide you in low-light conditions and provide a quick and easy option for a bright, steady beam of light when needed the most. This, alongside the Fenix’s multi-GNSS support, means you will never get lost in the dark.

All the Features You Expect from a Garmin Fenix Watch

The Garmin Fenix 7 is an upgrade to its predecessors, meaning it comes with all the features you expect from the range. There are in-built sports apps, workouts with performance metrics, recovery time advice, golf course maps, multi-continent topoactive maps and wellness sensors for monitoring everything from heart rate, pulse, body energy, respiration, hydration and sleep. You can also enjoy Spotify direct to your watch, and link your smartphone so you can receive notifications and pay for items in shops using Garmin Pay.

There are several options to choose from in the Garmin Fenix 7 range, so we thought we’d share our favourite of each size model with you.

Garmin Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar Edition 47mm Watch

The standard Garmin Fenix 7 features a 47mm casing, 1.3” scratch-resistant sapphire display and an impressive 18 days of battery power, extending to 22 days when solar charging in smartwatch mode. In GPS mode, you will benefit from up to 57 hours of charge, boosted by a further 15 hours when harnessing the sun’s power.

This model is available in a stunning carbon grey diamond-like carbon bezel with a black rubber band. The standard casing size allows for a fantastic experience to help get you out on the hills or predict where you’ll come in your next race.

The unisex Garmin Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar Edition 47mm Watch is available from Banks Lyon for just £779.99 or £11.70 a month.

Garmin Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar Edition 51mm Watch

The biggest and most impactful model of the collection, the 7X offers a whopping 28 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, extended to 37 when using the impressive battery boost from the sun, allowing you to go longer and get stronger. In GPS mode, this model can help navigate you to your destinations for 89 hours, with the solar energy boost giving you a further 33 hours on top of that.

This version of the 7X collection is as stylish as it is smart, with its beautiful chestnut leather strap which will serve you well no matter your activity. The titanium bezel circles the 1.4” sapphire touchscreen display, and the fibre-reinforced polymer with a metal rear cover will help protect the mechanics within the watch.

While this model is again a unisex design, it comes with a special 52mm casing more suited to larger wrists. However, it is impressively lightweight at just 89g, including the leather strap, so you would hardly know it is on your wrist.
