The Latest Watch Trend: Green Dial Watches

Trends are nothing new in the watch industry; a couple of years ago, it was rose gold, and then it was the turn of the integrated steel bracelets. Last year it was the rise in sustainable materials within the watchmaking process. This year the trend seems to have stayed with the green theme, but this time it’s the colour, not its relationship to the climate. Many leading luxury watch brands use the colour as their dial of choice for flagship models, and we can’t say we are disappointed.

The Rise of Green Dial Watches

The trend has been taken on by many luxury watchmakers, including Breitling watches and OMEGA watches. With the striking aesthetics and the nod to the great outdoors that green gives, it is the obvious choice after two years of having our horizons limited due to the pandemic.

Many brands are bringing their own with this trend, with different tones and colour levels. Some opt to add subtle hints of green through the dial itself, whereas others go all out with green dials, bezels and straps.

Of course, green dials have been around before; it’s not the colour that’s new. But they haven’t been around in quite as many different styles, or from as many brands before. Thankfully the option of coloured dials and watches is common and will stick around too, meaning your choice this year won’t only be in fashion for the next 12 months.

With this in mind, we’re highlighting some of our favourite green dial watches on the market this year and several previous models that appeal when looking for a watch to match this trend.

Breitling Superocean Automatic 44

Sticking with Breitling watches, as the brand knows style when they see it, this model offers something else entirely. Perfectly balancing the nostalgia of Brietling’s lineage with the contemporary, the newest Breitling Superocean watch gives style, functionality and versatility.

The model is powered by the Caliber 17 movement, with 38 hours of power reserve and gives the wearer the ability to dive up to 300m. The broad hands and indexes are coated in luminescence, allowing the wearer to read the time underwater clearly. Both steel and rubber bracelet options provide a folding clasp that enables the wearer to make micro-adjustments of 15mm to easily wear the watch over a diving suit.

The scratch-proof ceramic bezel, also in green, is unidirectional and will never wear or fade, and the watch itself is shock, sand and saltwater resistant. It makes the perfect accompaniment both in and out of the water.

The Breitling Superocean Automatic 44 can be yours for just £3,750 or with 0% finance monthly payments of just £56.25.

OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300m Co-Axial Master Chronometer 42mm Watch

OMEGA Watches are always exceptional, and the Seamaster Diver is no different, especially the almost all-green version of the watch, which will adorn our display cabinets this summer.

The Seamaster Professional Diver made its debut in 1993 and has continued to gather a loyal following. The famous ocean heritage OMEGA is known for combines with innovation and style to provide a fantastic piece for any collector.

This OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300m Co-Axial Master Chronometer 42mm offers a polished green ceramic dial with a green ceramic bezel and a white enamel diving scale. The hands and raised indexes are rhodium-plated and filled with white Sumer-LumiNova to allow underwater reading. The dial is finished beautifully with the laser engraved waves the collection is known for and has a date window at 6 o’clock.

This is truly a piece that any OMEGA fan will want to get their hands on, and you can add it to your collection for just £4,550, or £68.25 per month on zero finance.

OMEGA Constellation Quartz 28mm

Of course, it isn’t only men who will want to be a part of this latest trend, and thankfully OMEGA has a piece just for women that will fit in nicely.

This stunning model offers every bit of elegance you expect from the watchmakers, with a dramatic design which will make its wearer the talk of the town.

The petite 28mm case and bracelet comes in stainless steel, with feature indexes and engraved roman numerals on the case rather than the dial. The pastel green of the dial is mirrored in these roman numerals, and the hour markers within the dial are showcased beautifully by diamonds, with white gold hour and minute hands pointing their way. The OMEGA Calibre 4061 powers the movements, and on the case back, you will find a Constellation Observatory Medallion stamped into the steel.

The fantastic OMEGA Constellation Quartz 28mm makes for the perfect gift for a loved one and is available from Banks Lyon for just £3,290, or as little as £49.35 per month.

Bremont Broadsword Bronze Sotek

Paying tribute to the unique partnership between Bremont watches and the Ministry of Defence, this model is part of the Bremont Armed Forces Collection. It uses CuSn8 bronze to highlight the importance of the material in naval engineering and nods to the military with the shade of green on its dial.

Its extras include a sub-seconds hand at 6 o’clock. The hands are layered with luminous paint for sight in low light, and a chronometer-rated BE-9502AV movement powers the watch. The caseback features the stamps of Her Majesty’s three services.

As the bronze that the watch is made from is a “living” metal, each timepiece will age differently and develop its own unique patina over time—giving you a truly unique watch for your collection.

The Bremont Broadsword Brone Sotek is just one of the striking Bremont Armed Forces Watches available from Banks Lyon. It can be yours for just £3,295 or as little as £49.43 per month.

Longines Hydroconquest Automatic 41MM

This elegant stainless steel watch from the Longines watches collection features everything you need from a performance watch, with polished silver hands, finished in Swiss Super-LumiNova and a ceramic bezel in the same stunning green as the dial. Its water-resistance of 30 bar, unidirectional bezel and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal allows freedom to use the watch throughout most pursuits and not risk any damage.

It’s powered through an automatic self-winding mechanical L888 Calibre that gives a 72-hour power reserve. The caseback features the stunning Longines logo with the features of the watch engraved.

The Longines Hydroconquest Automatic 41mm is available for just £1,500 or as little as £22.50 per month on 0% finance from Banks Lyon.

We’re proud to stock a wide variety of luxury watches on finance at Banks Lyon and are always on hand to provide models which will keep you in with the latest trends in luxury watches.
