Bremont Limited Edition Watches: A Glance Into The Past

Following the announcement that some exclusively available Bremont watches will be coming into being as a result of their new collaboration with Boeing, we found ourselves looking back over some of the similarly elite Bremont timepieces that have come and gone in the past. Bremont chronometers with limited availability are always supremely in-demand items, and even long after they have been withdrawn from circulation they continue to garner an impressive amount of attention. Here are a few of our selections from Bremont’s portfolio of past limited edition watches that have generated recent interest.

Bremont EP120

Few aeroplanes can claim to be more recognisable than the Spitfire Mk V, and it is therefore entirely unsurprising to find a timepiece influenced by this icon within Bremont’s back-catalogue. The Spitfire Mk V is now based in Duxford, and it is truly remarkable that Bremont were actually able to procure parts from this aeronautical sensation for use in their EP120 watch. Numerous modifications were conducted upon the Bremont EP10 watch to further elevate it within the already illustrious pantheon of previous Bremont watches, and the supremely frustrating fact for many horological connoisseurs is that this emblematic chronometer was restricted to only 120 timepieces in total.

Bremont P-51

A classic Bremont timepiece that was first unveiled as a consequence of the acclaim generated by the EP120, this famed chronograph watch was created using authentic parts from the iconic Mustang aircraft used in the Pacific war campaigns. The P-51 also takes its name from the serial number of this celebrated instrument of aviation. Piloted by the legendary veteran Lt. Bert Lee Jr, this Second World War aircraft is thought to have been instrumental within two victories in Lee’s hands alone, and such a storied plane must have been truly irresistible for Bremont. The Bremont P-51 watch was appropriately limited to 251 pieces, and has now become a true collector’s item as a result.

Bremont Norton

A contrast to the two aforementioned watches, drawing inspiration from a motorcycle brand rather than a prominent figure from the aviation industry, the Bremont Norton watch was created to commemorate the dominant manufacturer at the Isle of Man TT races. Norton have contributed significantly to this yearly extravaganza by virtue of innovations such as their ‘Featherbed’ frame design, and this spirit of engineering excellence would have provided Bremont with an instantaneous kindred spirit. Only 200 Norton watches were ever produced, making this another especially sought-after timepiece.

The peerless specifications within all Bremont limited edition watches, not to mention the breathtakingly historic materials they so regularly incorporate, will always lead to them garnering widespread veneration. It also would be decidedly unwise to think that the most desirable Bremont wristwatches have come and gone, as some of the crowning glories from this British luxury watch brand are still obtainable. Here at Banks Lyon, we are proud to have a few examples of the limited edition Bremont HMS Victory watch still in stock, and also the limited edition Bremont Codebreaker watch available to pre-order. From time to time, we may also acquire an otherwise discontinued Bremont watch within our pre-owned collection, so be sure to regularly monitor our second hand watches page to see what we have. With the new Boeing themed wristwatches hovering tantalisingly upon the horizon, the future of Bremont undoubtedly holds just as much excitement as the past.
