Position: Lancaster Showroom Retail Host, reporting to the Assistant Store Manager
Holidays: 20 days plus bank holidays
Hours:Full Time position (5 days per week inc. Saturdays)
Job Summary
The Retail Host is responsible for creating a welcoming and engaging environment for customers as they enter the store. This role involves greeting customers, providing them with information, assisting with enquiries, and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience. The Retail Host will also play a key role in maintaining the appearance of the store and supporting the sales team in various tasks.
Key Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
Customer Engagement:
- Greet customers warmly as they enter the store and offer assistance.
- Provide customers with information on store layout, current promotions, and product locations.
- Assist with customer enquiries, directing them to the appropriate team members or departments.
- Offer drinks or other hospitality services where applicable.
Store Presentation:
- Ensure the front-of-house are clean, organized, and inviting.
- Help maintain visual merchandising standards by tidying up displays and ensuring products are well-presented.
Customer Experience:
- Assist with managing customer flow, including helping customers join waitlists or manage queues during peak hours.
Sales Support:
- Assist sales associates by directing customers to them when specific product knowledge or further assistance is required.
- Support the sales team with stock replenishment, organizing products, and other tasks as needed.
Feedback and Reporting:
- Collect customer feedback and communicate it to the store management to improve service and store experience.
Safety and Security:
- Monitor the entrance for potential security concerns and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the store.
Experience
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in retail or hospitality.
- Experience with customer service or sales support is an advantage.
- Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong customer service values with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of retail operations and product merchandising.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Other information
This position may require occasional travel between store locations.
