With Baselworld about to begin, the attention of the watchmaking and jewellery industry is squarely focussed on the Swiss city. Here at Banks Lyon, we’re excited to see what the event will bring, with a number of new timepieces expected to be launched there over the next few days, and naturally, we are particularly interested in those brands which are also represented here in our store.
Bremont: Palace – P05b
So far, Bremont have announced three new models for 2016 which we expect to be showcased at Baselworld – the MBII White, ALT1-ZT/51 and ALT1-C Polished Black. According to a countdown on their site, there’s more to come very, very soon.
Chopard: Hall 1.0 – D15
The Chopard L.U.C Perpetual Chrono is to be launched at the event, marking 20 years since the company began to manufacture their own movements.
Dietrich: Hall 2.2 – D37
This is a first-time appearance at Baselworld for designer Emmanuel Dietrich’s brand, a company which only began a few years ago. Their unique designs, including the most recent models, the OT-5 and OT-6, are sure to make an impressive debut.
Georg Jensen: Hall 2.1 – B65
Whilst Georg Jensen will be showcasing their elegant watches, the prime focus will be on the launch of a new jewellery collection in partnership with architect Zaha Hadid.
Gucci: Hall 1.0 – D49a and D49c
The famed fashion house will be showcasing designs from their latest collections, including fresh variants from their G-Timeless line with the new honeybee motif.
Longines: Hall 1.0 – A25a
Several new models in the Longines DolceVita range are expected to take centre stage at their display; with gold accents adding luxurious colour, these elegant timepieces should be very tempting.
Omega: Hall 1.0 – C25d
Omega have a range of new pieces to present at Baselworld this year; the Seamaster AquaTerra “GoodPlanet”, the Speedmaster Moonphase and the Constellation Small Seconds – the first Master Chronometer for ladies – are just a few.
Raymond Weil: Hall 1.0 – C35
In their 40th anniversary year, Raymond Weil have recently announced a new limited edition Maestro timepiece to celebrate The Beatles. Their Freelancer Skeleton timepiece is also expected to be showcased.
Rotary: Hall 5.0 – A03
A new line within their Les Originales collection, Tradition, is expected to be the mainstay of their Baselworld showcase – an elegant and attractive design with a very refined silhouette.
TAG Heuer: Hall 1.0 – D01
CEO Jean-Claude Biver will be hosting a press conference at their stand at 11am (CET) on the 17th, bringing his irrepressible attitude to the event. They will, of course, have a range of new models on display, as well as a showcase for the TAG Heuer Connected.
Tissot: Hall 1.0 – D31
Following in the footsteps of TAG’s success with the Connected watch, Tissot are expected to unveil a new smartwatch at this year’s Baselworld.
