Breitling reveals a new Limited Edition watch in aid of Autism Awareness Month

Breitling Watches have teamed up with professional golfer Ernie Els to create a Limited Edition Chronograph in tribute to Autism Awareness Month. Part of the proceeds of this watch will be donated to Els’ autism charity, the Els for Autism Foundation.

The watch is a special version of the Breitling Chronomat 44 and features the Els for Autism logo etched on the case back. Limited to 88 pieces the watch has a blue dial and a 44mm steel case.

Els started the Els for Autism Foundation after his son was diagnosed with the development disability in 2009. In addition to his work with the Foundation, Els will host the third annual Els for Autism Golf Challenge; this is now the largest international charity-driven amateur golf tournament in history. Partnering with Breitling watches they will help spread the word of the tournament, and the work of the Foundation, throughout the United States with the help of their retail partners – building on the already enormous success the event.

The watch is to be produced in a limited edition run of 88 pieces and Els himself will wear number 1.

“Autism affects an estimated two million people in the United States, we need to work together to help everyone touched by this disorder, and I’m pleased to say, as a Breitling enthusiast, that Breitling is dedicated to making a difference. The limited edition watch is a touching representation of their support.”

“Ernie Els’ passion for his charity is a testament to his good nature, and one of the many reasons we’re honoured to call him a friend of Breitling,” said Breitling USA President Thierry Prissert. “It’s humbling to be part of his cause. Hopefully the watch will help increase awareness about autism this April, and help those who need it most.”
