Breitling Montbrillant Receives the Calibre Overhaul

The new limited edition Breitling Montbrillant 01 is the fourth in a succession of iconic Breitling timepieces to be updated with Breitling’s first entirely in-house movement, the Calibre 01.

Breitling Montbrillant Limited Edition

The movement has been said to be the most accurate and reliable self-winding chronograph movements currently on the market. The Montbrillant has retained its 1940s style and characteristic circular slide rule for pilots, and the inclusion of the new movement into this classic design provides an even greater level of accuracy and distinction than the model had previously enjoyed.

The Breitling Montbrillant was groundbreaking in its use of numerous chronograph functions and accuracy, and the latest model is no different. The middle counter displays the traditional 1/100th of an hour in striking red, with the other counters denoting hours, minutes and seconds. A date function located at the 4:30 marker is also included. The iconic stylised ‘B’ logo of the brand is located at 12 o’clock in solid gold, matching the hands and hour markers and finishing off the dial perfectly. The Breitling Montbrillant 01 also has an impressive power reserve for a self-winding mechanical movement of up to 70 hours.

The Breitling Montbrillant 01 will be limited to two versions, with 2000 pieces in steel and 200 in 18k red gold, with each watch’s individual number engraved at 9 o’clock on the case middle. The inclusion of a transparent case back means that the Calibre 01 movement is visible to the onlooker, and can be fully appreciated.
