Celebrating November with the Citrine

We’ve had a whole month’s break since we last looked at the significance of certain gemstones in relation to the calendar months, but this month we’re once again going to focus upon a select birthstone. With Bonfire Night now behind us and November well underway, the citrine is the object of our scrutiny, and although this stone may be unfamiliar to some of you, the closely associated topaz will almost certainly seem more familiar. In actual fact, the citrine was previously known in some parts under the name of ‘gold topaz’, despite being an entirely different type of gemstone.

When you ponder the matter, the name ‘citrine’ is entirely apt, as it derives from the distinct yellow – or lemon – hue of the stone. It shares this name with both the citron fruit and a variety of small Asian bird known, thanks to its golden plumage, as the ‘Citrine Wagtail’.  Aside from some varieties of diamonds and sapphires, yellow gemstones are relatively rare in nature, so the citrine is a highly popular stone, and one that is said to combat negative energies and bring about self-confidence. Actually, citrine stones are also found in reddish or brownish yellow varieties, and even oranges and ambers are present, so there’s a fair bit of variety on offer for gemstone connoisseurs to enjoy.

Here at Banks Lyon, we have numerous examples of citrine jewellery available if you wish to celebrate November with this traditional birthstone, but, as we hinted in a recent blog post, one of our most recent acquisitions especially excels in this respect. So without further ado, take a look at some of the brand new stunning citrine Endless Jewellery that we have in stock right now:

Part of the appeal of the citrine – aside from the clarity and purity of its colour – is that it’s an eminently accessible gemstone, and that’s readily apparent when you peruse these two charms. We love the understated appearance of the Endless Silver Citrine Heart Grip Drop Silver charm, as it really conjures up images of a genuine fragment of amber, whilst the alternate Endless Silver Citrine Heart Grip Drop Silver charm is a little more complex in its form, and would make an ideal gift for a loved one in time for Christmas. Both are individually priced at just £30, which is an absolute steal.

A little more expensive at £45 each, we have two further citrine charms. The first – an Endless Gold Citrine Heart Grip Drop charm – is almost the twin of the aforementioned latter silver charm, apart from the addition of gold to make this a gloriously homogenous piece. The second – an Endless Silver Citrine Love Drop charm – perhaps possesses the most prominent focal point of all these charms, as the many-faceted citrine on this delicate adornment is guaranteed to catch the eye.

Lastly, we have an Endless Silver Big Citrine Flower charm, and this striking jewellery piece is composed of no less than seven citrine stones. With seven signifying the ‘perfect’ number, it’s perhaps unsurprising that this charm should prove to be so charming, and it would undoubtedly make a superb gift for either a lady or a child this Christmas.
