For Baselworld 2013 the Imperiale collection gets a sporty and sophisticated new look in the form of the Chopard Imperiale ‘All Black’ Watch. This more contemporary design encompasses all the beautiful features the Imperiale collection is now famous for but adds a mysterious and daring twist. The all-black dial of this new piece has shimmering light effects and each sub-dial, marker and hand has been carefully crafted in a material that does not compromise on readability.
Maintaining all the features of the Imperiale collection the watch exudes sumptuous designs; emulating the rich fabrics and embroidery of the great Imperial age. The curved hands are reminiscent of the daggers used in combat and the detailing on the dial – the cushions that used to adorn royalties chambers.
The crown is set with an onyx and the shape of the lugs reflects the tradition of ancient columns that have remained famous for their perfectly balanced proportions. The case is a large 40mm but it does not sit uncomfortably on the wrist. The curved case gives the illusion of a much lighter case than other models of this size.
The bracelet of this new release is machined from the finest steel in the Chopard workshops in Switzerland. It is then treated to a black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating that gives it its distinctive shiny black finish. This watch is available on a black rubber strap if you fancied an even sportier look.
