In 1929 Umberto Cazzola, the man behind Fope, started a factory crafting jewellery with approximately 20 employees. He was amongst the first to develop new technologies for the production of extendible steel watch bracelets and quickly became a natural leader in the field. It was just over 50 years later when the Novecento mesh made its debut. This design was unique and really stood out from other similar pieces of jewellery and quickly gained international appreciation. In 1998 Cazzola’s grandson, by the same name, opened a US branch of Fope including a marketing and sales office. Two years later, the opening of the new headquarters in Vicenza, the original location of the Fope brand, saw a blend of advanced technology and modern design.

The most popular range of Fope today is the Fope Flex It collection. As the name suggests it is flexible, and there is no clasp on the bracelets but instead inside each link there are two special 18ct white gold high tensile(heat treated) springs. You won’t ever have to fight with clasps on your jewellery in the morning ever again! As all you have to do with the Fope bracelets is roll them on! Each stunning piece in this collection is available in yellow, red or white 18ct gold. Fope Flex’It jewellery can be worn plain, with diamonds or semi precious stones. The styles are available on bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings, as with all other Fope collections.

To celebrate its 80th Birthday in 2009 Fope has created a limited edition of 100 sets of Flex’It Nuie bracelets (named after the beautiful Pacific island). The set includes a yellow gold bracelet with Cognac diamonds, a white gold bracelet with diamonds and a rose gold bracelet with pink sapphires and diamonds. This collection can only be purchased in a set and are numbered on request.

Other ranges within Fope include the Maori collection which takes its name from the indigenous people of New Zealand and, again, uses the Navecento chain as a basis for the design. There is a diamond set feature throughout this range and the jewellery resembles the coloured stripes worn on the faces of the Maori tribes. The Luci range of earrings are designed to be able to match many families within the Fope range. The 18ct yellow or white gold electroformed earrings are designed to that they can be worn all day long!

Today the style and technique of Fope keeps achieving worldwide success, thanks to unique creations of Italian design using advanced technology and highly qualified workers. In order to meet the demands of the modern market, Fope are constantly adding and evolving various jewellery collections and present their pieces at international trade fairs every year. Today, Fope jewellery is based around the unique Novecento mesh design and there is no solder used to create the links. Also all the diamonds used in Fope jewellery are G Colour and VS quality and each jewel is produced according to a strict criteria of quality and provides warranties for the jewellery as well as international certification.
