New Bremont Collaboration with Boeing Announced

Scarcely a week seems to pass without some new revelation being unveiled by British horological giant Bremont, and this most active of luxury watch brands has now announced a brand new collaboration with the American multinational corporation Boeing. Aviation titan Boeing is the largest manufacturer of aircraft in the world, and also a leading aerospace and defence contractor, so it should come as no surprise that Bremont, renowned for beautifully created pilot’s watches, should have found a kindred spirit in this partnership. Whilst the fulfillment of the alliance may still be some years off, Bremont intends to utilise the partnership to commemorate Boeing’s 100th anniversary in 2016, and the currently circulating information suggests some truly tantalising timepieces.

The new range of Boeing themed timepieces from Bremont will be optimised to showcase the former’s proficiency in advanced materials, and will make use of actual aircraft grade substances within the watches. From super hardened steels to sophisticated aerogels, Bremont intends to make use of the entire pantheon of obtainable resources. Furthermore, mirroring the precedent that was set by the limited edition Bremont HMS Victory watch, the special edition chronometers within this collection will contain genuine parts from the objects they were inspired by. Bremont has always possessed a special affinity with the aeronautics industry as a result of the passion instilled in its founders by their father, Dr Euan English, and both Nick and Giles English are enthusiastic about the possibilities this alliance will enable.

Via the Press Release currently available on the Bremont website, Nick English has expressed his satisfaction that Bremont’s tentative association with Boeing, already in existence due to the numerous over-engineered aviation and military elements within collections such as Bremont U2 watches, has now become cemented into a combination described as being ‘a joy’ to the Bremont brothers. Boeing has similarly acknowledged the quality of Bremont’s existing workmanship, and has hailed the proposed 100th anniversary celebrations as a ‘unique way’ to honour their landmark centennial. More details relating to the collaboration are anticipated to be made public later in 2014; a wait which many horological connoisseurs may find to be interminable.

Whilst the unveiling of the new Boeing themed Bremont watches has not yet taken place, Boeing’s own interest in the partnership came about as a result of the existing range of Bremont watches; mainly due to their considerable expertise in the area of quality engineering. All Bremont manufactured watches are subjected to trials that go far beyond the typical call of duty, and each and every one of them is privileged to boast a full chronometer certification and an extended 3 year warranty. It was these merits that made them such an attractive affiliate for Boeing, and these same intrinsic values make them highly sought after by watch aficionados too. Here at Banks Lyon, we are proud to possess an extensive collection of Bremont chronometers that represent each stage of the brand’s evolution thus far.
