Tag Heuer unveil high-frequency chronograph technology at Baselworld 2011

TAG Heuer made timepiece history at Baselworld 2011 by unveiling the TAG Heuer Mikrotimer Flying 1000, a concept watch that is the first-ever integrated wrist mechanical chronograph with a central hand capable of displaying 1/1000th of a second.

TAG Heuer are renowned for their cutting-edge technology and had only recently set the world record of a 1/100th of a second accuracy in January 2011. On 11th March they successfully tested their new concept watch and announced that it would be unveiled during Baselworld 2011 – only two weeks after their first successful testing.

This development shook the timepiece world, with many other leading brands still perfecting their accuracy to 1/100th of a second. The confidence TAG Heuer hold in their products has always been beyond doubt, their Carrera range offers Mikrograph, Automatic, Laptimer and multi-date watches, as well as a Limited Edition Lewis Hamilton model.

The Carrera range has historically commanded a loyal following and the TAG Heuer Grand Carrera model has brought elegant fashion to the range; the Grand Carrera model has a larger dial and luxury case that give an air of modernity to the pieces. All models include a Côtes de Genève screw and curved horns on the case, making a fashionable and accurate timepiece.

The TAG Heuer Grand Carrera introduces a new movement inspired by GT engine systems in racing cars, this technology brings the Carrera back to its precision roots. Wearers of these watches will be able to read second displays, two time zones and chronograph time.
