At Banks Lyon, we’re eagerly awaiting the night of July 2nd, when we will finally find out who is the winner of the prestigious ‘Independent Retailer of the Year Award’ at the Retail Jeweller UK Watch and Jewellery Awards 2014. However, we’re not the only people to be anticipating the award ceremony, as celebrated jewellery designer Andrew Geoghegan – whose work we are pleased to stock – is also looking forward to possible success at the event in not one, but two of the categories.
Geoghegan’s eponymous brand has been announced as a finalist for both ‘Designer of the Year’ and ‘Bridal Collection of the Year’, and these latest nominations mean that the accolades really do keep flooding in for Geoghegan year upon year. The decision to name Andrew Geoghegan as a finalist in the two categories was made back at the beginning of May, but according to recent news on his Facebook page the jewellery designer has now undergone his test run in front of the Retailer Jeweller UK judges to justify why he deserves to win these coveted awards.
It is the Cannelé range (seen below) that has proved to be the crowning glory of Andrew Geoghegan’s varied jewellery portfolio, as this collection is the assemblage that has been named as a finalist in the ‘Bridal Collection’ category. All Andrew Geoghegan jewellery is a celebration of true British excellence, and each and every piece excels in terms of quality (thanks to the efforts of some of the most respected designers, goldsmiths and setters in the world), but the Cannelé collection, with its homage to classical jewellery, has been an outstanding range ever since its inception.
We currently have two examples of Cannelé jewellery in stock, namely the Andrew Geoghegan Cannelé ring and the Andrew Geoghegan 18 carat white gold Cannelé pendant (see below), and even a cursory glance at either of these pieces will display why they have become so unprecedentedly popular. They truly are representations of fine art from every angle, and the sublime attention to detail has to be seen to be believed. Little wonder then that they have been received with such enthusiasm by those requiring bridal collections, and you would expect the whole selection to be an exceptionally strong contender at the Retail Jeweller UK Awards as well.
Undoubtedly, Andrew Geoghegan greatly deserves both of his nominations, and we wish him every success when the winner of each category is announced. With regards to our own nomination, we’re still enjoying being numbered among the 6 most impressive independent jewellers in the UK, and considering how many capable retailers there are to fit this description we feel privileged to have secured our place among the finalists. There’s now less than a month to go until we learn the results, but regardless of the outcome it is a genuinely incredible recognition to be a part of the awards.
