Breitling’s Navitimer Blue Editions

There were so many releases at this year’s Baselworld that some developments inevitably had to fly rather under the radar, but there’s no time like the present to address some of those gaps. Last year, the Breitling Navitimer family was one of the showpiece announcements for the brand, as the long-awaited GMT function was finally brought into the range. That was a step that generated an awful lot of enthusiasm, but this year’s Baselworld wasn’t devoid of unveilings on the Navitimer front either.

Although we didn’t speak about it in our overview of Breitling’s Baselworld releases, a pair of new Navitimer designs were introduced at the prestigious watch and jewellery fair, and they’re hardly easy to overlook, thanks to their unique colouration. The Navitimer has had many incarnations over the years, but these ‘blue editions’ are certainly highly distinctive within this distinguished portfolio. The hue is seen on the chronograph sub-dials and the interior bezel, and not many timepieces have made use of this colour in the past. As a result, these watches are especially distinct, and the classic aesthetic of the Navitimer has definitely been imbued with a somewhat contemporary flavour.

Of course, this re-imagination surrenders none of the signature qualities of the Navitimer, so this pilot’s wristwatch par excellence still adheres to the exact same design that we all know and love; after all, without that time-honoured stainless steel case and the trademark circular slide-rule, the Navitimer spirit would be irrefutably lost. You’ll also find a genuinely beautiful BO1 chronograph movement within each watch; an in-house produced mechanism that can be clearly viewed through a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback. All told, it’s a real shame that these special editions are limited to just 1000 pieces; unless you manage to get your hands on one! That’s where we can help.

If you prefer your timepieces to be secured by a sleek leather strap, our Breitling Navitimer 01 Blue Edition is priced at £6,670, and is also available on 0% finance for 36 monthly payments of £148.22 alongside a 20% deposit. The black colour of the alligator strap definitely complements the black hue of the dial with aplomb, and lends the whole wristwatch a very pleasing sense of homogeneity.

On the other hand, lovers of metallic link bracelets may prefer our Breitling Navitimer 01 Blue Edition 447A. It’s a shade more expensive, retailing at £7,190, but is still easily accessible on finance for 36 monthly payments of £159.78 and a 20% deposit. The bracelet enhances the ‘technical’ aesthetic of the Navitimer a little more, and the clean expanses of stainless steel will never lose their appeal.

Whichever version you prefer, don’t delay in contacting us, as these highly desirable limited editions are likely to be in great demand. Of course, it’s worth remembering that you can view a vast array of similar watches on our Breitling Navitimer page, so there will almost assuredly be something that takes your fancy. And if you have questions about any of the Breitling watches that you see, don’t hesitate to give us a call on 01524 38 48 58. Our friendly team will be more than happy to assist you.
