As one of the only brands that has resisted the urge to release images and details of their new releases before the Baselworld watch and jewellery fair Rolex have revealed some absolute beauties!
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original Cosmograph Daytona Rolex have unveiled a brand new Daytona model with a crisp icy blue dial. The use of this dial suggests the watch will be made in all 950 Platinum and thus an extremely exclusive piece. This watch also features a Chestnut brown monobloc Cerachrom bezel in ceramic. This is destined to be an absolute classic for Rolex.
The favourite of the group for the team here at Banks Lyon has to be the new look for the GMT Master II. Presented in 904L steel it features a two-colour Cerachrom bezel in ceramic – a first for Rolex. The colours, blue and black, are said to represent day and night and following the success of the Pepsi bezel GMT Master II this is set to be very popular.
In Basel 2011 Rolex unveiled the brand new Yacht Master II. Originally only produced in all gold, 2013 sees the introduction of the new all-steel model. This model also features a Cerachrom bezel insert in blue ceramic.
A colourful update next with the introduction of matching coloured straps to go with the coloured dials of the day-date collection. This collection will only be available in 18ct yellow, white or Everose gold. This watch is perfect for the extrovert amongst us!
For 2013 Rolex has given the ladies amongst us a new version of the Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust Pearlmaster. This stunningly beautiful watch combines Everose gold with sparkling diamonds and mother of pearl. The case and bracelet are crafted in 18ct Everose gold, created by Rolex in its own foundary and they feature hundreds of perfect Rolex diamonds exquisitely set into 18ct white gold.
In a bid to honour the art of dial making and traditional gem setting Rolex have produced a range of new Oyster Perpetual Day-Date models in gold that boast beautiful diamonds, mother-of-pearl and coloured gem stones. These dials have been hand-crafted in house by the expert Rolex dial makers and each model features a bezel set with baguette cut diamonds. This is definitely the watch for the lady who wants to stand out from the crowd.
