The Bremont Boeing Model 1 – White Dial

It’s now almost a year ago that Bremont’s initial collaboration with Boeing was announced, and we still remember the excitement of seeing the unveiling of the two new Bremont Boeing watches at Baselworld 2014. Given that level of enthusiasm, you’d be right in thinking that we’ve been silent on the Boeing front for a fair old while, but this latest review should hopefully remedy that oversight on our part. We currently have two variants of both the Model 1 and Model 247 timepieces in stock, but the subject of today’s feature will be the white dial Model 1; a chronometer of timeless appeal.

Bremont watches frequently incorporate genuinely extraordinary materials, and the Boeing examples are no exception. The aviation giant has provided not only the inspiration for the watches, but also aerospace grade titanium and steel as well, and the result is a collaboration that showcases the mastery that both brands possess when using advanced materials. Although a black dial is accessible in the Model 1 collection, we’re particularly fond of the white dial on this timepiece, as the marriage between silver stainless steel and white looks extremely refined, to say the least.

For those seeking technological specifications, an interesting talking point arises from the Boeing 465 steel that makes up the basis of the 43 mm Trip-Tick case. Usually, scratch resistance is imparted by a surface hardening technique, yet in this case the resistance is innate; the steel really is that durable to begin with. A secondary variation crafted from similarly high-quality Ti-64 titanium is also on offer from Bremont, and this model is the perfect choice if you’re seeking a lighter timepiece.

In contrast to a number of other Bremont watches, the Boeing Model 1 possesses few military connotations, despite the options for the Seattle polymer and NATO style straps, and instead focuses upon a clean and – for Bremont – almost contemporary aesthetic. This freshness is continued by the inclusion of a never before seen style of crown guard, whilst all of the usual Bremont attention to detail is present in the form of inlaid hour markers and a domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal that, like the casing, boasts robust properties of scratch resistance.

By now, Bremont is justly renowned for the qualities that are inherent in the COSC certified movements of their watches, and the Boeing is no exception to that rule. This particular movement is a Bremont BE-36AE mechanism, and it comes equipped with a 38-hour power reserve for additional convenience, and also an anti-shock protection capability to enable consistent performance. Never a brand to shy away from making a statement, Bremont have also fitted each Boeing watch with a special moulded and skeletonised rotor purely for decorative purposes, and this is all the more impressive given the fact that this timepiece is not one of their limited releases.

What we especially like about this chronometer, though, is the fact that the references to Boeing are subtle. There is no brazen ‘Boeing’ emblem to be seen anywhere, but such brash adornments instead give way to tasteful additions like a modest blue Boeing logo at the end of the second hand. In all respects, this watch is extremely classy, and happens to possess standards of engineering that belie its restrained appearance. We’re therefore very pleased to be able to offer it to you at Banks Lyon Jewellers

The Bremont Boeing Model 1 White Dial watch is available now for £3,595, or for 36 monthly payments of £79.89 and a 20% deposit, and if you’d like to find out more about this timepiece, or indeed learn more about any of our other Bremont watches, contact us now by calling 01524 38 48 58 or sending an email to [email protected] and we’ll be happy to give you any additional information you require.
