According to the BBC Sport website, Ronaldo was emotional when receiving the award, thanking the President of FIFA, and also his coach and the whole Real Madrid team for ‘an unforgettable year’. Describing the achievement of winning the Ballon d’Or as ‘incredibly unique’, Ronaldo is nevertheless also looking forward to the future, and has his sights set on breaking more records.
Speaking to TAG Heuer, Ronaldo declared that he wanted to not only win the award again, but also go down in history as ‘one of the greatest players of all time’.
