 
Earlier in the week, we promised you that we’d look at the favourite timepiece of Cara Delevingne in a little more detail. After all, given her recent appointment as the brand new ambassador for TAG Heuer watches, it seemed only right and proper to acquaint you further with her own preferred wristwatch. As always though, this definitely isn’t a review that’s being carried out under the burden of obligation, as the watch in question is simply stunning, and undeniably merits the extra attention.
In many ways, a single glance at the watch will tell you that it is an absolutely perfect match for Cara Delevingne, as it combines feminine charm with a distinctly risky edge; the aesthetics on this watch are not what you’d necessarily expect to see upon a more typical ladies’ model. The appearance of this watch depends upon the contrast of the black dial and the ceramic bezel alongside the brighter white and stainless steel of the case, bracelet, sub-dials and fine detailing. Sometimes, the use of gemstones can result in a wristwatch verging upon a pure ‘fashion’ accessory –at least in appearance – yet the diamonds on this TAG Heuer Formula 1 add just the right amount of sparkle and glamour to the watch, without detracting from or diluting the powerful statement made by the colour scheme.
Moving onto the technicalities, we arrive at a number of notable complications. As you’ll have noticed from the dial, this is a chronograph timepiece, and thus there is a running second dial at 3 o’clock on the main face, as well as a chronograph minute counter at 9 o’clock. Offset to the right hand side, there’s also a date aperture, whilst the polished hands are coated in SuperLuminova. All of this is shielded behind scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and the caseback is likewise fully screw-fitted to ensure that a robust water resistance of 200 metres remains intact at all times.
According to the pattern of many ladies’ watches, this TAG Heuer Formula 1 relies upon a quartz movement, yet this choice brings not only great convenience, but also superb quality as well. All of TAG Heuer’s quartz mechanisms conform to extremely impressive standards of reliability, and they are carefully optimised to excel when exposed to impacts or magnetism as well. An end of life indicator is provided as standard, and this same care also extends to the bracelet, which exhibits a butterfly clasp to guarantee that this doubtless prized timepiece never slips from the wrist.
